European prospect research officer (for fundraising)

On behalf of our client, Swisslinx is seeking a European Research Officer responsible for increasing the financial support of the organisation by performing ongoing and in-depth prospecting to identify potential donors and maintaining existing data on current donors and potential donors.

Your mission:
• Conduct high quality detailed biographical, corporate, foundation and financial research for identified potential donors and contributing data and analysis to aid in developing strategies, briefings and research profiles
• Qualify potential donors by determining affiliation, interest and giving potential
• Engage in ongoing data mining to identify potential donors and to augment existing data on current donors and potential donors
• Provide recommendations regarding priority of potential donors, giving capacity and propensity to donate
• Monitor and communicate news, events and issues that may impact the Organisation and/or the philanthropic environment

Your background:
• Professional experience in prospect management and research experience in a not-for profit environment
• University degree or equivalent education in a relevant field
• Must be skilled in reading and interpreting financial, technical, and trade documents and journals for the purpose of wealth assessment
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while inputting large quantities of information
• Excellent writing and editing skills
• Demonstrated independence and resourcefulness, while working within the framework of a team-oriented environment
• Excellent knowledge of the fundraising cycle
• Ability to deal with confidential matters with tact and sensitivity
• Works well independently as well as part of a team that is geographically dispersed
• Fluency in English and German
