Finance inventory specialist (m/f)

Our client is an international company based in Fribourg.

Performs financial reporting for inventory and costing, including monthly actuals, last estimates and budget submissions. This role also provides support to other departments for issue resolution including transfer pricing and standard cost setup (or moving average price), billing flows, supply chain and manufacturing inventory reconciliation and purchase & manufacturing variance analysis.

The Finance Inventory Specialist is performs inventory related month-end tasks and for monitoring toll manufacturing and toll distribution inventories. Key tasks include:

Inventory Finance & Accounting

Monitor and correct variances and errors in intercompany billing flows for inventory transactionsUpload/enter production quantities from month-end input files received from the manufacturing plants and ensure correct inventory reporting. Book Material Usage Variance for the month`s transactions.Opening and closing balance check. Compare daily /weekly inventory levels between the trading company and the manufacturing & distribution entities. Check negative Inventory.Perform period-end closing, inventory reconciliations, purchase and manufacturing variance calculations and related journals, accruals and provision bookings.Contribute to timely and accurate financial reporting within a strong compliance framework.Generate intelligible management reporting in a complicated financial and IT environment.

Costing and Financial Control

Perform supply price calculation; maintain standard costs and/or moving average costs and other master data records.Participate in inventory-related projects to support inventory targets.

Work Processes and Internal ControlsPerform all work in compliance with internal control requirements.Support the management of Master Data, including new setup and maintenance of system records.Participate in various finance and systems related projects

Inventory accounting processes and intercompany/supply chain billing flows

Education (minimum/desirable): Bachelors or Diploma or Professional qualification in finance/accounting.

Experience: 2-5 years in finance/accounting related roles. Ideally already familiar (1 year experience) with inventory accounting processes and intercompany/supply chain billing flows in a multinational environment.

Languages: Fluent English required (oral and written), other languages appreciated.
