Our client is a fast growing international pharma/biotech company looking to strengthen their Finance team.

Reporting to the Head of Finance EU your main responsibilities will be:


Manage and oversee our Third Party Payroll Providers for employees based across Europe (6 countries)

Perform monthly close activities including balance sheet reconciliations such as accrued bonus, accrued vacation and stock listed compensation expense for the European entities

Collect payroll information from various sources and provide monthly payroll instructions to payroll providers

Record all payroll and equity related journal entries in the GL

Process monthly multi-country payroll

Partner with US Accounting and Payroll teams on all payroll and benefits matters

Maintain accurate employee/payroll records within in-house systems including new hires and terminations, compensation and benefit changes, and bank, tax or other miscellaneous changes

Coordinate all payments to employees and tax authorities for international payroll

Communicate with employees of all levels regarding all payroll and stock plan related matters

Prepare equity, stock option and RSU roll-forwards and other required disclosures for external reporting

Perform daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly reconciliation of records between Stock Administration and General Ledger, HR, Payroll, transfer agent, etc

Coordinate preparation of annual compensation related statements

Provide monthly closing support, including preparation and/or positing of journals, preparation and/or review of reconciliations, preparation and distribution management reports

Assist with quarterly review and annual audit preparation for our auditors (helping to ensure that high-quality financial information is created)

Lead projects to setup payroll operations for new entities, implement Europe payroll systems and improve processes and procedures

Assist with ad hoc projects as necessary and performs any other job duties as assigned


Fast growing international biotech company

Experience at European level in Accounting and Payroll processes

You have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with at least 5 years of experience in Accounting, ideally from the biotech industry. On top of your Finance responsibilities you have experience directly managing European and international payroll through external payroll providers
You have strong knowledge of USGAAP or IFRS accounting principles
Independently motivated, detail-oriented and strong problem solving ability
Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation.
Excellent organisational skills, sufficient to multi-task in an extremely fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
You have a client centric mentality and the ability to effectively communicate and provide a high level of service to internal and external customers at all levels within the company
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment where results are achieved through influence and the incorporation of multiple points of view.
If you have experience working with Oracle Financial and HRIS, Concur it would be considered a plus
