Our client is an international, fast paced American company within the manufacturing industry. They are listed on the NYSE and have a very multicultural atmosphere

- Ensure compliance with US GAAP / Local GAAP requirements / SOX / Tax Compliance
- Management of a team of 5-7 (in-)direct reports. The development and structuring of the team
- Overall coordination and responsibility for timely local statutory and tax reporting according to the legal due dates;
- Ensure good working relations with Business Management & Corporate functions and with the management Shared Service Centers on regional matters
- Establish an enhanced closing schedule and implement appropriate changes in the closing process to optimise efficiency and quality of it
- Ensure compliance with Corporate policies and execution of SOXcontrols e.g. for Journal Entry Approvals, Account Reconciliations, Stock Observations
- Support functional related financial activities, including growth initiatives, bench-marking, 3rd party contracts, expense residual analysis, and various reporting requirements at the Business and function level
- Drive continuous improvements of the financial processes
- Coordinate the audit-efforts with external and internal auditors
- Identify, evaluate and quantify any internal risks. Assess internal controls being applied on effectiveness and efficiency and implement changes
- Participate in / lead special (ad-hoc) projects on a regional or global basis.
- Keep contact with counterparts in other regions and leverage inter-regional opportunities

CPA, qualified accountant, ideally with big4 and industry background

- Strong communication skills, ability to influence others
- Professional level of knowledge of modern accounting practices
- Good understanding of US GAAP reporting, including tax accounting
- Good understanding of Local GAAP reporting, VAT and tax reporting for one, ideally more countries in EMEA. Overall understanding of the differences between US and local GAAP / tax
- Good understanding of and experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
- Good understanding of the use and application of ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Good understanding of the use and application of MS Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
- Several years of people management experience
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant financial experience covering both a multinational environment as well as some years with Big 4 audit firm
- Manufacturing industry experience
- Hands-on experience with Internal Controls (SOX)
- Willingness to travel
- Work Experience with cultural diversity
- Fluent in English plus in at least one additional European language both verbal and written
